FLAXWOOD FESTIVAL 2011 Flaxwood Festival was conceived as an exclusive "Charity Fund-Raiser", and it will remain firmly in that vein as time moves on.  The inaugural Flaxwood Festival (2011) supported three incredibly deserving local organisations ..... WOOLSTON BRASS  —  CHRISTCHURCH CITY MISSION  —  ONE-2-ONE CHARITABLE TRUST. The name of this Festival was changed from Flaxton Festival to Flaxwood Festival in Murray Wood's perpetual honour.

FLAXWOOD FESTIVAL 2012 Flaxwood Festival 2012 will offer support for an extended variety of local charities to the stated extents, THE SALVATION ARMY 40%, WOOLSTON BRASS 30%, CHRISTCHURCH WOMEN'S REFUGE 15%, ONE-2-ONE CHARITABLE TRUST 15%.  This year Flaxwood Festival will also be making a special donoation to Kate Barron, an exceptionally brave young woman who tragically lost both her legs as a result of the February 22nd quake disaster. Festival recurring overheads are totally covered by background sponsorships and accordingly ALL proceeds from ticket sales go directly to our charities.  Our attendance target for 2012 is 1000 guests, and our donation target is $50,000.00 ..... please help us with ticket sales and donations if you can - selling tickets privately is a huge task, and the organisors need all the help they can possibly get !
