Adrienne, Lady Stewart has graciously consented to lend her support to Flaxwood Festival by becoming it's Patron. Lady Adrienne is the widow of the late Sir Robertson Stewart (CBE JSM) founder of PDL Industries, and she has over 40 years experience in industry and commerce, becoming one of the first women in New Zealand to hold a directorship of a public company. She received the 2009 Arts Foundation Award for Patronage, and is extremely well recognised throughout the country for her selfless philanthropic activites. In December 2008, The Press commented that "Lady Stewart is a benefactor, campaign organiser and persuasive lobbyist". Her activities are not, however confined to the arts, and she is highly visible in many areas within the community, and she regularly allows her own home to be utilised as a fund-raising venue. The organisers are delighted to have Lady Adrienne on board as the Festival's Patron. |

John Richard Campbell is a retired businessman, who is known to many local baby-boomers as linchpin and leader of iconic 60s group "Johnny Campbell and The Detours", and whose wide musical connections and strong personal friendship with founding organiser Hans Schuitman, enabled their mutual vision for a Flaxwood Festival, to turn into a marvelous (and continuing) reality. | ||
